Composer
Craig Farr studied composition with Morten Eide Pedersen at the Grieg academy of music in Bergen, Norway. His works have been performed by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and ensembles and bands such as Bit20 Ensemble, Manger Musikklag. He has been commissioned by Hardanger Musikkfest, Gloppen Musikkfest, the Norwegian Band Federation and received work grants from the Norwegian Arts Council in 2025 and Bergen Municipality in 2023.

Performer
Craig Farr has worked as a percussionist in the Norwegian Naval Forces Band since 2004. He is the leader of Ensemble Obsidian and plays jazz and improvised musics as well as contemporary classical music that he studied under Peter Kates at the Grieg academy of music in Bergen, Norway. Jazz and improvised music are also huge passions and Craig can be heard in groups such as Santangelo and Obsidian Spontaneous Music Ensemble as well as various jazz constellations.

OSME - Obsidian Spontaneous Music Ensemble, is a side project combining contemporary classical music with experimental improvisors in open-form projects.
