Loved performing a spontaneous (in more ways than one!) gig at BrassWInd 2024 with the spectacular Aksel Røed and Ola Høyer!
The Spontaneous Music Ensemble started by John Stevens and Trevor Watts in London in the mid '60s has had a massive influence on me, both artistically and socially. An inspirational meeting with John made a life-changing impact on my 18 year old self, one that I still feel the tremours of today. The energy and freedom of expression I find in playing spontaneous open-form music is such a joy and gives a feeling of enrichment I don't find in other forms of music performance.
